He thought it would never happen, and yet, there he was, watching Roxas within the shadows, disguised as an NPC. It was not the best disguise, but hey, it kept him out of DiZ's knowledge, so he wasn't complaining. Roxas had just dealt a rather nasty-looking blow to the fake Vivi, and it was now or never. Pulling out what looked like a square-shaped cell phone, he tapped in a keygen that froze up the virtual Twilight Town. As he watched Roxas fight the now-revealed Dusks, he felt a small glimmer of hope; the blonde wasn't going down so easily.
Which meant that he had a chance to meet him. Roxas smacked away the final Dusk with his keyblade and hunched over slightly, panting. His half-headed recovery was broken by the sound of over-exadderated clapping, and he turned to see a black-hooded man, barely out of his teens, emerge from the shadows and into the sunlight. "Roxas. Alright. fight fight fight!" the man encouraged in a teasing tone, making the mentioned blonde give him an incredious look. The lanky man under the trenchcoat gave a small frown. "You really don't remember?" He asked, stepping in closer and bending down on his knees a tad for no unknown reason. "It's me. You know, Axel." he removed his hood, revealing his vibrant features to the sunlight. Roxas found himself subconciously looking over the unknown person. Bright, scarlet-red hair, short eyebrows, neon green eyes with two black-purple ticks just underneath them. His figure was thin yet lean, his chest and shoulders slightly broad and protruding hips to match. Roxas frowned. "Axel?" Said redhead frowned. He had a feeling that this was going to happen, even if he did deny that the blonde would not remember him all the same. It looked as if the only possible way of reversing this terrible deed was to beat down the teen and steal him away, for he knew as well as anyone, more in fact, that Roxas would not come willingly with a stranger he had never seen before. "Talk about blank with a capital "B". Man oh man, even the Dusks aren't gonna crack this one." As he summoned his loyal chakrams, the blonde took a hesitant step back and in a worried, yet demanding voice, he stated, "Wait a sec, tell me what's going on!" Axel looked around with a grim sort of smile. "This town is his creation, right?" He looked back at Roxas and grinned a little. "Which means we don't have time for a Q and A." His smile faded quickly into a scowl. "You're coming with me, conscious or not." He swung back his chakrams in a battle stance. "Then you'll hear the story." Not even realizing his mouth was open, Roxas took a few steps back. How in the heck was he gonna fight someone like THAT? There was no way he was going to make it out on top... He felt something woosh behind him and he looked around. Axel also seemed worried, muttering a small 'uh oh' to himself as he mimicked Roxas' actions. As the wind stopped, the blonde scowled at his keyblade and gave a small growl before roughly thrusting it to the ground and shouting, "What's going ON?!" Axel bit his lip. An angry Roxas was easily dealt with as long as you knew what to do. But this time, the redhead was at a loss. What WAS he to do, if the blonde remembered nothing of him? The very thought of it made the man depressed; or, at least it would have, had he a heart. The, one word flashed in his mind: hug. His mind told him not to do it, his non-existent heart screamed at him to just continue with the next lines, but his body was being controlled by his soul, both of which were cooing 'yes' in his ears. Before he knew it, he had the blonde in a sort of throw-arm embrace, pulling him forcedly to his chest. How was it that Roxas still felt so warm, even though he was just a data copy? Of course, Roxas' first reaction was to throw off the redhead. And his mind told him to do just that. However, a feeling stirred within him; this had happened before. Somewhere dark, where rain fell every day without mercy. A depressing place, but they had both been there, in the exact same position. He felt the irresistable urge to respond to the redhead's hug; and he did, first in hesitation but then in comfort and sincerity. Axel smiled to himself, and with eyes laced in forced tears, he asked, "So, you do remember, eh?" Awesomesauce. I produced that right in the comment box, so if there were any typos, blame it on that. Also, it's 2:43 a.m.; I'm allowed to make mistakes. So as you can tell, I did not actually draw this. No, I of all people was asked to color it, by the only seizure I'd be willing to have, ~Siezure-in-a-Bag. It's an awesome drawing, though it doesn't fit my coloring style. (Her style's more of a cartoon-realism mix, where mine's more of a realism-anime mix. o_O I'm really happy as to how this came out; Specifically on the shading and the skintones, though those gave me trouble in the beginning. There's probably a bajillion mistakes on this, and I'm fully aware of them. So please, don't point them out, and I won't have to in the first place. I would, however, like to have some tips on improving my painting skills in GENERAL. Specifically, in blending watered-down colors. And don't you just LOVE that background? I swear, I spent somuch time on that! It was my greatest acheivement in life, I swear. I can now die happy after painting that marvellously detailed background. </sarcasm> So yeah, hope you enjoyed it. Also, tell me if you liked the drabble-y thing I did, too. o3o The picture: [link] ~o^o Axel, Roxas (c) Kingdom Hearts This picture (c) :devSeizure-in-a-bag: |
